The former Obsession store at 1126 S Santee St, Unit B, has been transformed into LA's Sweeties, a wholesale and retail vendor of women's fashions. Here you'll find trendy party clothes and casual boho-chic styles, with jeans currently on sale for $9.99! On average prices start at around $13 for most merchandise. The store receives new inventory every week, so there's always something new.

We've long been fans of @district_boutique's expertly curated outfits on Instagram and finally got the chance to stop by their brick-and-mortar location in the alley. District Boutique is located at 1137-B Maple Ave, inside Santee Alley between 11th and 12th Streets.

While at the store, we met with Tiffany who also manages the Instagram account. She's such a sweetheart and super stylish. In fact, the entire team at District Boutique is sweet and knowledgeable. It's the kind of store you want to go when you're putting your Friday night outfit together and need some styling tips ;)

JUNIORS CLOTHING - JEANS
Jeans are  the ultimate Back-2-School staple and you won't find them for less anywhere else. With prices for shorts and jeggings as low as $10 in various stores, and Colombian and Brazilian style jeans for only $15, you could buy a new pair for the entire first week of school and still save money.

JUNIORS PLUS-SIZE CLOTHING
Many stores in the alley have started to carry junior plus-sizes especially for jeans, but fashionable plus-size tops and dresses can be harder to come by. That's why we recommend Sweeties Plus, the only plus-size-only women's clothing store in the alley. Sweeties has two locations in the LA Fashion District and offers figure-flattering, trendy styles up to 3x.

Deal Alert! Denim Starting at $15 at J and J Apparel

J and J Apparel has high-waisted shorts and jeans starting as low as $15! The wholesale and retail store also has a great selection of tank tops, crop tops, jumpsuits, and overalls. Retail prices range from $15 up to $45 for Made in USA brand jeans and overalls. Most styles are also available in plus sizes 1x-3x.

Iconic Fashion

Our featured store today is Iconic Fashion. Located at 1006-C inside the Santee Alley, Iconic Fashion carries women's clothing, from jeans and shorts to party dresses. They also carry jewelry, specifically body jewelry (pictured above) and head pieces a.k.a. "head chains". They are open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day.

Back to School Trends

Global Chic: Prints ans symbols from cultures all over the world seem to be popular for fall. We've seen them pop up all over the Fashion District from the showrooms to the alleys. The trend has been prevalent in clothing as well as accessories and is really a continuation of the graphics and patterns trend that has been popular all summer.

Floral: A standout print, florals can be girly and fun yet very versatile, lending themselves to different styles. We especially like floral prints on dresses for this year's "Back to School" season. As we mentioned above, prints have been very popular (we've seen them on tops and bottoms alike) and they will continue into the fall trends.

Jeans/Denim: The "Back to School" staple is very strong this season, with denim tops making a comeback. Detailed denim continues to reign supreme in the alley stores: distressed, washed out and jeweled. Colored jeans also remain a strong favorite among shoppers.

Sheer tops: We've seen sheer fabrics all year, especially in breezy tops and dresses. These easy to wear styles aren't going anywhere soon. They are stylish, yet comfortable and are incredibly easy to dress up or down. You will also find tank tops in all colors for easy (and school appropriate!) layering.
