Grand opening and major bargain shopping alert! Everything $8.99 just opened in Santee Alley at 1120-H (inside the alley, formerly Meikayla). The new store seems to be offering everything from trendy tees to leggings and active wear. As expected with most bargains stores, merchandising efforts are minimum so you might have to look around a bit, but for $8.99? Totally worth it! The store is only offering women's clothing at this time.

New Store Brings Chic Glamour to the Fashion District

Chic Glamour Boutique is not your average Santee Alley store. Located outside the alley at 1136-B Santee Street, the store offers just what the name implies - a boutique-like experience but at Santee Alley prices. The store offers a good mix of casual styles and party dresses, shoes, handbags, accessories, and makeup. We love that you can plan an entire look in one store! The store is so well merchandised all the clothing, shoes, and accessories can be mixed and matched to your personal style.

Boyfriend jeans are another big hit this season, specifically of the distressed variety.

Korean Beauty and Skincare Line Nature Republic Now Open in Santee Alley

Korean cosmetics and skincare favorite, Nature Republic opened its first West Coast location in Santee Alley last Sunday. Nature Republic offers nature inspired beauty products and makeup at affordable prices. The average moisturizer costs about $10 and their most popular product, the Soothing Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel, is only $5.50 or 4 for $16.50. Great price, no? Among the products that caught our eye was a snail mucus inspired face moisturizer meant to mimic the enzymes in real snail mucus for maximum hydration. There's also a snake venom inspired product that mimics the peptides in snake venom to produce an effect similar to botox.

The store itself is beautiful and unlike anything else in the alley. The tile you see on the walls in the photo above is actually volcanic tile imported from Korea. It's a stunning s pace. We're very excited to have them in the alley!

The customer service at Nature Republic is superb. The friendly staff is very knowledgeable and can offer product recommendations based on skin type.

There's a a huge display of nail polishes in the middle of the store with every color you could ever want for $1.40!

Makeup products include eye shadows, mascaras, eye liner, BB creams, concealers, lip gloss to name a few. Not pictured but also available: makeup brushes, sponges, and various beauty tools.

Along with skincare lines for all skin types, Nature Republic also has sun care products, face "packs" (face masks), and a range of scented body lotions, cleansers, and body care products.

Nature Republic is open 7 days a week, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is located at 1152 S Santee St. inside Santee Alley.

Fall Prints and Boyfriend Jeans at Meikayla - New Women's Fashion Store in Santee Alley

Meikayla, a women's fashion wholesale and retail clothing store, opened in Santee Alley earlier this month. It is actually the sister store of T&J Fashion Mart, a family-owned casual clothing business that's been operating out of Downtown LA for many years. Meikayla offers more trendy, boutique-style clothing than T&J, but we were happy to find the same friendly customer service that's made T&J so popular. Currently Meikayla is stocked with a mix of end-of-summer and early fall fashions ranging from matching 2-piece skirt sets to jackets and boyfriend jeans. In fact they have the cutest boyfriend jeans we've seen in the alley recently, perfectly distresses and cuffed! Scroll below for a photo tour of the store and current inventory.

Now Open: JR Jeans Women's Clothing

The newest store to open in the Santee Alley is maxi dress heaven! JR Jeans currently has the largest selection of maxi dresses and skirts in the alley. They also have a huge selection of jeans (as the store name suggests), including plus-size and Colombian and Brazilian styles. Our fashion-forward shoppers will find a lot of unique prints and bold colors here, as well as jumpsuits, which are quickly becoming a top-seller this summer.

JR is the sister store of RBK Jeans and J and J Apparel, which we recently featured here and here. The brand new store features ample fitting rooms and flexible wholesale minimums for buyers looking to mix-and-match styles.

3 Reasons to Love My Secret Fashion

They've only been open for a few weeks, but My Secret Fashion has already become one of our favorite stores in the alley for three reasons:

1. Swimsuits: We love the high-waisted swimsuits here! They have swimsuits in various colors and styles but the high-waisted ones are so on trend for this summer.
2. Unique Styles: Their unique styles are so refreshing. Even though they carry pieces similar to what you would find in other Santee Alley stores, they way My Secret Fashion styles their clothing is truly unique to them.
3. World Cup Fashion: Matching leggings and crop tops for all your favorite World Cup teams, including Mexico, USA, and Brazil. Need we say more?

I Heart Fashion: Santee Alley Summer Shoe Trends

Just like Forever Fashion, I Heart Fashion had its grand opening in Santee Alley recently. The shoe retailer carries a variety of styles from comfy flats to embellished platform pumps, but most importantly when we visited them last week they had exclusive styles not yet available at other retailers!

At I Heart Fashion you'll find some of the most popular trends this season:

• Clear/Lucite Heels
• Bright Colored Creepers - We saw these on an online retailer selling for double! (See second photo below.)
• Very detailed sparkly heels - Still going strong!
• Bold flats - These are not your ordinary ballet flats. Think bright colors, unique designs, and lots of details.
