We've seen gold and silver heels, wedges, flats, and even boots! Typically reserved for night-time and special occasion, the low-heeled styles allow for day time wear and more casual looks.

Santee Alley Summer 2015 Shoe Trends

Summer is practically here and summer shoe styles have arrived at Santee Alley. We stopped by Cherry Footwear (1049 Maple Ave.) to check out their new arrivals and get the inside scoop on the most popular trends for Summer 2015.

Summer 2015 Shoe Trends:

• Pointed-toe Pumps
• Rhinestone Heels - Especially for formal wear!
• Slides - Last summer was all abut the Birkenstock, and this trend is an extension of that. The "criss-cross" slides pictured below are especially popular.

X-PRT Shoes Now Offering Kids Sizes

Last year we introduced X-PRT shoes, a retail and wholesale men's footwear store on Maple Avenue. We love X-PRT for its stylish casual styles and incredible prices, and we are very excited to announce they are now offering kids and baby sizes. Kids sizes start at size 10 and go up to size 4. Baby sizes go from size 3 to size 8. Adult sizes go up to size 13.

Santee Spring Shoe Trends 2015

Spring is in the air and on the shelves of Santee Alley stores. We stopped by local favorite I Heart Fashion to get the inside scoop on this season's must-haves.

Platforms: A couple seasons ago it was all about the platform pump and now the platform sandal is taking its place. The best thing about this trend is that the stacked sole makes it that much more comfortable to walk in heels! 

Strappy: Strappy sandals of all kinds can be seen at all our shoe stores, but specifically the "gladiator" type. These were really popular back in 2009 and we're seeing a more modern version return for 2015.

P.S. The single sole strappy heel is still going strong. We're big fans of the patent versions pictured below.

Booties: It might seem counter intuitive but booties are big this spring, both the traditional bootie and the sandal version.

Mules: Here's a trend we haven't seen in a while! The mule has been making appearances on the runway and all over Instagram. This season it's being presented as a "low ankle" heel but we've seen both the traditional mule and it's Spring 2015 cousin gain popularity in the alley.

Forever Shoes Now Accepts Online Orders

It's not every day that we get to share news as exciting as this.. Forever Shoes, located at 1010 inside Santee Alley, is now offering online orders! That's right, you can now shop the alley without even having to leave your home. Orders can be placed via the Forever Shoes Facebook page or over the phone by calling (213) 744-8098. The store will be posting new arrivals on Facebook and deleting old styles as they sell out, so you'll always know what is in stock.

Forever Shoes is just one of various stores in the alley that now allow shoppers to place online and phone orders. Some stores only take orders via Facebook and Instagram, so make sure to follow your favorite Santee Alley stores :)

Weekly Fashion Finds: Stylish shoes for girls sizes 9-4

It's seems like almost week there's a new pair of amazing shoes in the alley, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that women's shoe stores are expanding their shoe selection for girls. The alley has an incredibly selection of women's and men's footwear as well as kids, but the young girls and tweens  sizes had been a bit limited, until now that is.

Forever Shoes has an entire new area within the store dedicated to girls shoes sizes 9-4. As you can see in photos above they range from boots to sandals and everything in between. The shoes are stylish and age appropriate, and most styles are available in various colors.

Santee Bargains: Women's Shoes Starting at $14.99

We've been documenting the amazing shoe finds in Santee Alley since the inception of this blog (as evidenced here, here, and here). However, this little gem hadn't made it on the blog yet. Forever Shoes is one of the largest shoe stores in the alley, but you would never know it without walking in. Shoes here start as low as $14.99. In fact, while we were visiting they had select styles going for $4.99! Talk about a bargain... You can see more of their shoes styles on their Instagram page or scroll down to see more photos.

Men's Footwear X-PRT Opens in Santee Alley

Wholesale and retail men's shoes vendor, X-PRT recently opened its doors at 1123-B Maple Ave. The family run business is an exclusive vendor of men's casual shoes, with styles ranging from tennis shoes and loafers to Chukka boots and Oxfords. Retail prices range from $20-$40. As you can see in the photos below, the shoes are very good quality for the price! All shoes are available in sizes 4.5 to 13.
